Elva Brisson Coward, 87, of Bladenboro, passed away at her home on Friday, April 21, 2023. She was born to the late Dillon Brisson and Thelma Guyton Brisson on December 20, 1935 in Bladen County. Elva was also preceded in death by her husbands, Troy Pait and Paul Coward; brother, Claudie Brisson; sisters: Lorrine Robertson, Emma Dale Stough, and one grandson, Chad Guyton.
Elva leaves behind her son, Charles Pait and wife Dianne of Whiteville; two daughters: Mary Hester and Teresa Pait and husband Gaddy, both of Bladenboro; three brothers: Thomas Brisson and wife Betsey, Ellis Brisson and wife Geneva, Elbert Brisson and wife Hazel, all of Bladenboro; grandchildren: Candice Pait, Gregory Guyton, Keith Ward, Ava Ward; great-grandchildren: Kailey Guyton, Justin Bergesse, Baily Dyson, Ember Ward and Kolton Ward.
Elva adored the time spent with her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking cakes, and working in her flower garden. She was a well-loved Christian lady that took pride in her work as a nurse. Her kind-hearted and generous spirit will forever be remembered by all those who loved her the most.
The family will receive friends from 1-1:45pm on Tuesday, April 25th at Bethlehem Holiness Church in Bladenboro. A funeral service will follow at 2pm with Rev. Johnny Guyton officiating service. Burial will conclude services in the Brisson Cemetery in Bladenboro.
