Elva Ward

Elva Lee Ward, 90, of Dublin passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2011. She was born on January 27, 1921 to the late Henry Lee Hudson, Sr. and Maybell Lewis Hudson.



She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Her greatest joy was her family. She also loved going to church and reading her bible, and she was an avid fan of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.



She was preceded in death by her husband, James Stanley Ward; one son, Wayne Ward, her parents and three brothers.



She is survived by five sons, Bobby Ward and wife, Mary of Fayetteville, Donald Ward of Elizabethtown, Mike Ward and wife, Wanda of Butters, Terry Ward and wife, Pam of Bladenboro, Ricky Ward and wife, Kathi of Elizabethtown; three daughters, Cathy Williamson and husband, Ronald of Supply, Connie Guyton and husband, Donnie of Fayetteville and Mary Alice Drewry and husband, Wilbur of Carrsville, VA; two brothers, Jim Hudson and wife, Louise of Carrolton, VA and Bill Hudson and wife, Ellie of New Bern; one sister, Mae Vonne McClure and husband, Earl of Elizabethtown; 19 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.



The family will receive friends on Friday, September 16, 2011 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow the visitation on Friday at 3:00 pm at Galeed Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Warren Hill officiating.
