Ethel Rose Butler, age 75, of Bladenboro passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at

Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She was the oldest living hairdresser in Bladen County. She owned and operated Sassy Scissors in Bladenboro since 1966. She leaves many loving friends to cherish her memory. She was born in Bladen County on August 26, 1936 to the late Charlie and Vertie Edwards Dove. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Butler, three sisters, Madie Watts, Leona Hester and Leola Conner, and three brothers, Gaston, Charlie Jr. and Frank Dove.

Ethel is survived by her special pet, companion and friend "Button"; her adopted daughter, Sherry Long and her husband Donald of Bladenboro; one brother, Albert Dove of Bladenboro; four sisters, Stella Pait, Ada Pait, Vada Storms all of Bladenboro and Alberta Poole of Raleigh; one adopted granddaughter, Tonya Long.



The family will receive friends on Friday, November 4, 2011 from 1:30 to 2:45 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm on Friday with Rev. Bruce Cannon and Clifton Kinlaw officiating. Burial will follow at Bladen Memorial Gardens in Elizabethtown.
