Ethel “Ashe” Dunn Dew, 92, of White Oak went to her eternal home on Monday, March 15, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Dunn and Sarah Ethel Cain Dunn, her husband Paul H. Dew, one daughter Connie Dew, two sisters Betty and Mary and one brother Robert Dunn. She leaves behind one son, Paul Dew of White Oak, three daughters: Martha Deems (Mark) of Maryland; Sara Caldwell (Mark) of Virginia; and Janice Dean (Jimmy) of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren: Julie Dembo, Jennifer Brown, Emily Cross (Justin), and David Deems, and four great grandchildren: Abigail Brown, William Brown, Kyle Cross and Caleb Cross.
Ashe adored her family and friends. Her door was always open to them and you never left her home without a jar of pickles or other canned veggies. She enjoyed gardening, canning and puzzles. Ash made the best potato salad this side of Bladen County. Her warm southern charm and hospitality will certainly be missed.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the Old Bethlehem Cemetery, on Burney Rd in White Oak. Rev. John Blackman will be officiating.
All attendees are asked to practice social distancing and wear masks.
