Eugenia Gooden

Eugenia W. Gooden, 86, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, November 5, 2006 at Bladen County Hospital.



Born January 28, 1920, in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Junius and Bernice Wooten. She was a member of DAR, and a charter member of the Bladen County Hospital Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved her family dearly. She was committed to her Lord, church, and community.



She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Byron Gooden, and a daughter, Ann Gooden.



She is survived by her son, Kent Gooden and wife Brenda of Elizabethtown; daughters, Jeannie Upton and husband Don Upton of Charlotte, and Kay Morgan and husband Dr. Bernard L. Morgan of Wrightsville Beach; 3 grandchildren, Kimberlee G. White and husband De of Elizabethtown, Brian Upton of Charlotte, and Darren Upton and wife Susanna of San Francisco; and four great grandchildren, Megan White, Anna Kate White, and Cameron White, all of Elizabethtown, and Abigail Upton of San Francisco, CA.



The visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at Bladen Funeral Home and at other times at the home. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, at Wesley's Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Eckie Lancaster and Rev. Rusty Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the Wesley\\'s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
