Eva Mejia, 83, of Elizabethtown, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 14. She spend her whole life in El Salvador. She visited with her daughters in California and North Carolina frequently.
Mrs. Mejia is survived by her husband, Salvador Hernandez; three daughters: Zoila Esperanza Bergstrom and husband, Steve, of Pomona, California; Ana Marlene Torres and husband, Lorenzo, of Elizabethtown; and Karla Eva Espinoza and husband, Juan Peres, of Pan L dale, California; and a brother Alberto Mejia of El Salvador; two sisters, Maria Cristeza Mejia and Transito Mejia, both of El Salvador; and sixteen grandchildren:Fredy Antonia Mejia, Roberto Carlos Mejia, Pedro Levi Calderon, Ada Calderon, Erik Mejia, Ralph Griswold, Salvador Hernandez, Paz Marlene Hernandez, Lupita Hernandez, Jonathan Amed Torres, Joseph Leroy Torres, Hannah Michelle Torres, Karen Esmeralda Peres, Marelyn Ruby Peres, Josafat Amilcar Espinoza and Joan Peres; and three great-grandchildren
She is predeceased by three sons: Manual Antonia Mejia, Mario Rigoberto Calderon and Aristides Amed Hernandez; and four brothers: Adan Mejia, Moises Mejia, Francisco Mejia, and Benga Mejia, all of El Salvador; and one sister Beatris Mejia.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 16, from 4:00 until 8:00pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. Services will be Tuesday, January 17, at 2:00 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home with Rev. Lorenzo Torres officiating. Burial will follow in Bladen Memorial Gardens.
