Fran Penny

Fran Hester Penny, 72,of Whiteville formerly of Bladenboro, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Grace Hester, one daughter June Kinlaw Koenig, and one sister Doris Hester Gulledge.
She is survived by one daughter Denise Kinlaw Cross and husband Ray of White Lake, a son-in-law Al Koenig, four sisters: Shelby Storms and husband Billy of Bladenboro, Carol Hester Evans and husband Larry Hester of Tabor City, Tammy Todd and husband Tim of White Lake, and Charlene Fulk and husband Ted of Stanley, NC., three grandchildren: Jonathan "Jay" Raynor of Clarkton, Josh Raynor and wife Jordan of Clarkton, and Cliff Koenig of Elizabethtown, several nieces and nephews and two special yorkies Kernie and Winston.
Fran was a very giving person. Baking and cooking for others was a great passion of hers. She loved to sing and make people laugh. She had a great love for people and animals alike. She will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 10:00 am at Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church prior to Funeral services at 11:00 am. Rev. Chris Denny will be officiating. A private burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery in Bladenboro. At other times, family will receive friends at the home of Denise and Ray Cross of 103 Turtle Cove, White Lake, NC 28337.
