Franklin Allen

BLADENBORO - Franklin Allen, Age 78, of 11792 NC Hwy 41 West, died Tuesday, August 29, at his home.



Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 31, at 2:00 p.m. at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Center Road, Bladenboro, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 30, at Bladen Funeral Home of Elizabethtown, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.



He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gretchen McLaughlin Allen; a son, Jim, and wife Carole, of Indian Heritage Road, Lumberton; and two daughters, Karen Davis and husband Harold, of Marsh Road, Bladenboro, and Barbara Martin of Marsh Road, Bladenboro; two grandsons, Bridger and Adam Martin; one brother, Russell E. Allen of Sunset Beach; one sister, Daphne Patterson of Tar Heel, and a host of treasured family and friends.



Mr. Allen was a Navy veteran of World War II and Korea, and was retired from DuPont Works. He was a life-long member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, and was a member of The Gideons International.



Memorials may be made to the building fund of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, or to The Gideons International.
