Fred Fulton Bowen,87, of Bladenboro passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.



Mr. Bowen was born on August 14, 1924 in Moore County to the late Fred Fulton Sr. and Goldie Ferguson Bowen.

Mr. Bowen was a retired State Trooper with twenty-seven years of service; he retired as a Captain, and he was in the Navy and served in War World II. Fred served on several committees in Bladen County; such as, The Bladenboro Rotary Club; County Commissioner for Eight years; and was on the Committee of 100 Board for three years.



He is survived by his wife, Hester Nance Bowen of the home; his son, Rick Bowen and wife Lisa of Bladenboro; a brother, Grier Bowen of Gastonia; and his sister, Louise Barkley and husband Earl of Newton; grandson; Bradley Malcolm Bowen of Barksdale, LA; and a step granddaughter, Emily Ann Gallagher of Bladenboro;

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 20, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Bladenboro from 1:00 pm until 2: 15 pm with the service following at 2:30pm. Burial will follow in Singletary Cemetery in Butters.
