Gene Kinlaw

Gene Britt Kinlaw, 87, of Bladenboro passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 26, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents: Atlas and Catherine Kinlaw; son, Gary Britt and eight siblings. Gene leaves behind the love of his life of 68 years, Delta Parrish Kinlaw of the home; son, Garrett Kinlaw of Bladenboro; two daughters: Terri Bullard and husband Tony of Clarkton, Sherry Norris and husband Ronnie of Saxapahaw, NC; two grandsons: Jonathan Norris and his wife Jennifer, Major Jason Norris; three great-grandchildren: Jackson Norris, Katherine Norris and Randy Norris.

Gene retired from the United States Army as a Sergeant First Class. He fought in Korea and Vietnam twice. He was always ready to serve his country. Gene was a renaissance man, husband, father and grandfather that loved his family. He was a superman to his wife, children and grandchildren always sacrificed for his family. He loved doing for others, often giving his garden goods to his fellow neighbors. He was a warrior that will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Thursday, January 30th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with a funeral service at 2pm. Rev. Kevin Kinlaw and Rev. Clifton Kinlaw will be officiating service. Burial will follow services in the PineCrest Cemetery in Bladenboro.
