Gene Powers

Gene Harold Powers, age 81 of Bladenboro, died Thursday, June 25, 2015 at home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse L. and Lolla Kinlaw Powers. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Annie Ruth Powers of the home; daughters, Karen Brown and husband Carl of Whiteville, Wanda Coleman and husband Jackie of Bladenboro, Tracy Powers of Bladenboro, and Lorna Hewett and husband Robin of Bladenboro; a sister, Geri Gwyn and husband George of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Eric Brown and wife Terri, Joey Coleman and wife Brittany, Anthony Coleman, Kelly Hewett, Erin Hewett; and great grandchildren, Makayla Bostick and Ryder Brown.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Galeed Baptist Church. Services will be conducted on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Galeed Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Jason Williams and Rev. Bruce Cannon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
