George Hammond

ELIZABETHTOWN George Asbury Hammond, 91, formerly of Bladenboro died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005 at Bladen County Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Ashbury and Daisy Hammond; his wife, Mae Belle Hammond; a son, Marvin Hammond; a brother, Wiley Hammond; and a sister, Naomi McLean.



Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2 at Singletary Baptist Church with the Rev. Mitchell Nance officiating. Burial will follow at Guyton Cemetery. Bladen Funeral Home of Elizabethtown is handling the arrangements.



Survivors include three sons, Clyde Elery Hammond of Fayetteville, George Elton Hammond of Bladenboro, and David Asbury Hammond of Lumberton; four daughters, Susie Rogers of Evergreen; Doris Horne of Lumberton, Ann Smith of Ammon, and Sondra Guyton of Elizabethtown; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
