George Hood

George \\"G.L.\\" Lennon Hood, Sr., 96, of Clarkton entered into eternal rest Sunday, December 28, 2008.

He was born in Columbus County October 26, 1912 to the late George Henry and Etha Hooks Hood. He was a self-employed brick mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Etha Hooks Hood, His wife, Aileen Russ Hood; three brothers; four sisters and two half-brothers.

He is survived by; three sons, George Lennon Hood, Jr. and his wife Shirley of Whiteville, \\"Andy\\" Andrew C. Hood and wife Louise of Bladenboro, Danny Faison Hood and wife Susan of Clarkton; three daughters, Nannette H. King and husband Charles of Clarkton, Brenda H. Rich and husband Bruce of Clarkton, and Rebecca \\"Reba\\" H. Little and husband David of Clarkton; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Two very special people Melissa and Kimberly Stocks nurse and caregiver.

The family will receive friends, Tuesday, December 30, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. The service will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00pm. With Rev. Murray King, Rev. Anthony Rich and Rev. Dewey Ball officiating. Burial will follow at Clarkton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Beginning Ministries, PO Box 121, Clarkton, NC 28433
