Gertrude Smith

Gertrude Smith, 85, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Bladen County Hospital.



Born February 9, 1921 in Bladen County, she was the daughter of the late John and Ella Jane Taylor.



Mrs. Smith is predeceased by her husband, G.F. Smith; brother, John W. Taylor; half-brothers, Lonnie Vance Taylor and James Olin \\"Plug\\" Taylor; half sisters, Lela Taylor Hales and Maggie Taylor Cashwell.



She is survived by a son, Roger Smith and wife Judy of Lexington, NC; sister-in-law, Ida Taylor Parker of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Chad Smith, Nick Smith, and Benji Smith, all of Lexington; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews.



The visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, January 4, at Bladen Funeral Home, Elizabethtown. The funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Elizabethtown. Burial will follow in the Elizabethtown Cemetery.
