Gilbert Edge

Mr. Gilbert Roy Edge, 101 of Live Oak passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Bladen County Hospital. He was born in Bladen County on November 14, 1909 to Vander and Lee Edge. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Iris Edge; a daughter, Judy Gray Edge; three brothers, Vaughn, Dennis and Lannie Edge; three sisters, Lena Mae, Alene and Vannie; one half-brother, Bill Edge; one great grandchild, Melissa Ray and one great-great grandchild, Zackery.





Mr. Edge is survived by two daughters, Jean Tew and Marlene Smith both of Live Oak; one half-brother, Sam Edge of Fayetteville; one half-sister, Retha Arnold of Matthews, NC; three grandchildren, Darlene, Gloria and Ernie; five great grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren.



The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 6:30 until 8:30 pm at Suggs Grove Baptist Church in White Oak.



Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11:00 am at Suggs Grove Baptist Church

with Rev. Kevin Kinlaw and Rev. David Rutland officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
