Graham Wesley Deaver, 82, of Bladenboro passed away on Monday, April 22, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents: Dexter Deaver and Polly Ann White Deaver, two sisters: Leta Bell Cain, Bettie Alford and three brothers: Ethell Deaver, Ernest Deaver and Norris Deaver.
Graham leaves behind his loving wife Virginia Lovette Deaver, one son: Ricky Deaver and wife Renee of Lake City, SC; one daughter: Lorie D. Holden and husband Monty of Fayetteville; one brother: Ervin Deaver and wife Jurline of Wilmington; two sisters: Gracie Taylor and husband Charles of Elizabethtown; Dorothy Barnes and husband Harvey of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren: Brandie Deaver, Kathryn Holden, Montgomery Holden, Grace Holden, Natalie Holden and dozens of special nieces and nephews.
Graham was a retired crane operator after 44 years of service with the NC Department of Transportation. He was a compassionate family man who cherished his wife and family. He never met a stranger, a genuine friend to anyone he came in contact with. His heart of gold and cheery disposition will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, April 26, 2019 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, April 27 at Wesley’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown with Rev. Darrell Copeland officiating.
