Graham Hester

Graham Hester, 95, of Bladenboro, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, David F Hester and Ola Graham Hester; three brothers: Asa Hester, Houston Hester, Clayton Allen “CA” Hester; four sisters: Madie Kinlaw, Nona Gray Robinson, Beleuh Pait, Ruby Henry.

Graham leaves behind his wife of 67 years, Mary Jane Freeman Hester; two sons: Graham Wayne Hester and wife Genia, Grady Deryl Hester and wife Mary Kaye; two daughters: Sharon Hester Anderson, Crystal Hester Snyder and husband Timothy; seven grandchildren: Stephen Wayne Hester and wife Lexie, Jennifer Noele Hester, Mary Kathryn Shepherd and husband Kyle, MacKenzie Jayne Snyder, Landon Timothy Snyder, Khloey Priscilla Snyder, Kendall Daisy Snyder; three great-grandchildren: Brenna Nichole Hester, Bella Elizabeth Hester and Everette Graham Shepherd.

Graham was an United States Army veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a  hardworker who provided well for his family of which he loved so much. He was a master mechanic by trade with Burlington Industries who built his own home with love. Graham was a deacon, choir member, brotherhood member and RA leader at Galeed Baptist Church. He was also an avid member of the Bladenboro Lion's Club. Some of his hobbies he enjoyed were going to the beach, fishing and camping with his family.

A public walk-thru visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday, December 11th at the Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home-Bladenboro Chapel.  The family will have a graveside service in the Galeed Baptist Church Cemetery at 10:30am on Saturday, December 12th. Covid protocol will be practiced, but it is understandable and acceptable to the family for friends to remember them in prayer instead of attending.

Due to Covid, if anyone wishes to bring food to the family you are requested to drop off at the home of Mr. Hester at 200 Gum St. Bladenboro, NC 28320.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare 206 Warrior Trail Whiteville, NC 28472 and/or Galeed Baptist Church 571 Galeed Church Road Bladenboro, NC 28320.
