Harold Wayne Taylor, 74, of Bladenboro passed away at Elizabethtown Nursing Center on Friday, April 14, 2023. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fletcher and Mae Taylor; mother, Letha Taylor Freeman; brothers: Mickey Freeman, Jimmy Freeman, Terry Freeman, Cranford Taylor, and Wallace Taylor; sisters: Eva Brisson, Eloise Freeman, and Ida Rae Hall.
Harold leaves behind his wife, Victoria “Vickie” Taylor; two sons: Greg Taylor (Donna) of Lumberton, Brad Taylor (Caroline) of Bladenboro; daughter, Twyla Taylor Davis (Allen Dale) of Bladenboro; brother, Richard Earl Freeman (Vickie) of Fairmont; seven grandchildren: Anthony Davis (Hannah), Jeremy Davis (Faith), Bethany Davis, Dylan Taylor, Haley Taylor, Miles Taylor, Emma Taylor and great-grandson, Jameson Davis.
Harold was respected as a jack-of-all-trades, often called on by family and neighbors to help with gardening, yard work, and household repairs. He was a hard worker, diligent and meticulous, and he instilled a strong work ethic in his children. Despite being disabled from Guillian-Barre Syndrome in 2006, his ingenuity, perseverance, and faith in God allowed him to have a productive life far beyond what was expected. Harold will be remembered for his determination and his joy in telling how good God has been to him.
The family will receive friends from 4-6pm on Sunday, April 16th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Monday, April 17th at Bethel Baptist Church in Dublin. Dr. Mack Roberts and Rev. Warren Hill will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Kelly Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Elizabethtown Nursing Center and Liberty Hospice for their outstanding care and attention.
