Hilda Hester

Hilda Bowen Hester, 88, of Bladenboro (Resident of Wesley Pines in Lumberton past seven years) passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Katie Bowen; husband, Warren Hester; daughter, Brenda Hester Parnell; and sisters, Merle Perkins and Van Hooks.
She is survived by her son, Gene Hester and wife Ann of Cedar Creek; daughters, Lee Anne Bryan and husband Rev. Carlton of Bladenboro, and Kimberly Johnson and husband Derrick of Bladenboro; sister, Sarah Edwards of Fayetteville; six grandchildren, Morgan, Laken, Jennifer, Jayson, Charles and Michael; and two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Ashton.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Monday, October 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at White Oak Original Freewill Baptist Church in Bladenboro, NC with the Rev. Bobby Carden, Rev. Bruce Cannon, and the Rev. Carlton Bryan officiating. Burial will follow at Singletary Cemetery in Butters, NC.

All other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Kimberly and Derrick Johnson, 1674 Cabbage Road, Bladenboro, NC. Flowers are appreciated or donations may be made to Community Homecare and Hospice, 2402 N Roberts Ave, Lumberton, NC 28358.
