Horace McKeithan, 74, of Bladenboro, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents: Grover and Lucille McKeithan and brother: Lonnie McKeithan. Horace leaves behind his wife: Sue Thompson McKeithan of the home; daughter: Natalie Russ and husband Joseph of Bladenboro; sister: Katie Bowen of Indiana; two grandchildren: Aiden Russ and Keithan Russ.
Horace McKeithan was married to the love of his life Sue Thompson McKeithan for 53 years. They were married on November 25, 1965 at Dublin First Baptist Church. He was a man whom was devoted to family and his friends. He was a caregiver to his family and would tell anyone whom he met that his happiness came from them. He absolutely adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them and teaching them the right way to do things. His hobbies included watching NFL football, westerns, old movies, gospel singing and FOX news. He was fascinated by trains, history and geography. Some of his fondest memories were spent at Tweetsie Railroad with his family and grandchildren. He loved making a difference in the community and done this with honor and respect to God and Country.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30pm on Monday, July 1st at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd at 3pm at Dublin First Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Knight, Rev. Jason Lee and Rev. Cameron McGill officiating service. Burial will follow in the Community Baptist Church Cemetery in Bladenboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive Tampa, FL 33607.
