Ida Butler

Ida Mae Butler, 75, of Bladenboro passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Aileen Lee and one brother Elwood Lee. Ida is survived by her husband Alvin Butler of the home, son: Lawrence Butler of Elizabethtown; two daughters: Janet Butler of Bladenboro; Mary Butler of Dublin; one brother: Fletcher Lee of New Bern; one sister: Evelyn Grant of Fort Barnwell, NC; six grandchildren: Katie, Heather, Matthew, Amanda, Jeffrey, and Travis; three great-grandchildren: Hailey, Aiden and Joshua and one honorary grandson David Atkinson.

Mrs. Ida Mae loved her family dearly, especially her husband of 56 years, Alvin. She never met a stranger and always felt it was better to give than to receive. Ida had a special dedicated little friend, Jasmine, her fiest dog, who perished with her. She enjoyed reading books, especially the Holy Bible and spending time with her family. Ida will surely be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Center Road Baptist Church in Bladenboro. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Center Road Baptist Church with Rev. Dewayne Lambeth and Rev. Charleston Guyton officiating. Burial will follow the services in the church cemetery.
