Jack Wendell McDuffie, 78, U.S. Retired Air Force, of Elizabethtown went to his eternal home on Monday, January 31, 2022, at Womack Army Medical Center in Fayetteville. He is preceded in death by his parents, Aranius Wendell McDuffie, and Stella Bolton Hatcher McDuffie, one sister Ellen McDuffie Allen, two brothers Beau McDuffie and Donnie McDuffie and two sons Simon and Jack McDuffie II. Jack leaves behind his loving wife Doris McDuffie of the home, two sons Ernest Morris (Patricia) of San Antonio, TX and Ross McDuffie (Christina) of Elizabethtown, two daughters Cecile McDuffie Rapport (Zach) of Virginia Beach and Kelly McDuffie Hernandez (Chris) of San Antonio, TX, two brothers George Currie McDuffie (Barbara) of Wenatchee, Washington, and Edward McDuffie of San Antonio, TX, two sisters Judy Crain (Donald) of Missouri, Sylvia Bickell (Keith) of Del City, OK and eight grandchildren.

Jack was born and raised in Bladen County, NC. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 30 years before he began work in Bladen County. He worked with the Bladen Journal for several years as well as Bladen Community College. Jack was an asset to his family, his country, and his community. He enjoyed spending time traveling with his wife all over the United States and spending time with his grandchildren. Jack loved to stay busy. You could often catch him bike riding, hiking, gardening, or watching sports. Jack also loved to stay involved with his local church activities and sing in the choir. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend that left a lasting impression on this world.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Wesley’s Chapel in Elizabethtown. Funeral service will follow at 3 pm with Rev. Jonathan Hayes officiating.
