James Willard Carroll, 81, of Bladenboro went to his eternal home on Sunday, August 15, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.A. and Louise Carroll; brother, Billy Carroll; sister, Faye Guyton and son-in-law, Holland "Will" Williams, Jr. James leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years, Linda A. Carroll of the home; son, James Willard Carroll, Jr. and wife Teri of Virginia; three daughters: Penny C. Todd and husband Joey of Bladenboro, Kelly C. Turner and husband Chris of White Lake, Ashley C. Williams of Bladenboro; sister, Nancy C. Pait of Bladenboro; ten grandchildren: Brandon Carroll (Becky), Samantha Carroll, Dalton Carroll (Melissa), Chase Carroll (Katie), Luke Carroll (Kendall), Lee Todd (Buffy), Jena Powell (Jon), Travis Babson, Trey Turner, Ethan James "E.J." Williams; five great-grandchildren: Reagan Carroll, Peyton Carroll, Emerson Carroll, Greyson Babson and Claire Rose Powell.
James was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who adored his family. He enjoyed camping at the mountains and going on cruises with friends. A jack of all trades who did not mind telling you if you were doing something wrong. James was a man of few words but when he did speak you listened. His kind and gentle spirit will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:30 pm on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Center Road Baptist Church in Bladenboro with a funeral service at 3:30pm. Pastor Adam Self will officiate services. Burial will follow the services in the church cemetery.
