James Hammond

James Thurman Hammond, 82, of Bladenboro passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2009.

James served in the Army National Guard.

He was predeceased by his parents, Horace Jim and Theal Ludlum Hammond; his wife Lorraine Little Hammond, one son, J. T. Hammond; two brothers, John Lee and Durham Hammond.

He is survived by one son, Larry Hammond and wife Beth of Clarkton; daughter-in-law, Donna Hammond of Dunn; one sister, Dosha Hammond of Bladenboro; 8 grandchildren, J.R., Mark, Joshua, Tara, Jaime, Jessica, Macon, and Kelsey Hammond; 3 great-grandchildren, Jake, Karaline and Landon; nieces and nephew, Marlene King, Leveda Johnson and Ken Hammond.

The family will receive friends Thursday, January 15, 2009 from 5:00 until 7:00pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. The funeral service will be Friday, January 16, 2009 at 3:00pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home, with Revs.Jerry and Hazel Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Bladen Memorial Gardens.
