James Taylor

James "Jimmy" David Taylor, 72, of Bladenboro passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Maggie Taylor and one sister Grace Johnson. Jimmy leaves behind one son: David Simmons of Elizabethtown; one daughter Erika Taylor of Fayetteville; two brothers: Charles Taylor of Elizabethtown and Pete Taylor of Bladenboro; and two grandchildren: Martha Ryan Simmons and Henry Simmons.

Jimmy was a founding member of the Classic Cruisers Car Club. He loved cars, especially Corvettes, and Oldies music. Jimmy was voted "Best Looking" and "Best Dressed" during his senior year at Tar Heel School and was fondly known for his sense of style and humor. He was always a class act and will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27th at 11:00 am at Bethel Baptist Church in Dublin officiated by Rev. Thomas McCuddy. Burial will follow the services in the Taylor Family Cemetery on Beulah Church Rd in Lumberton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 177, Dublin, NC 28332.
