James Walters

James Russell Walters, 73, of Bladenboro, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Hattie Walters; brother, Frank Bryant. Mr. Walters is survived by his wife, Julia Pait Walters; son: Glenn Walters and wife Regina of Bladenboro; daughter: Suanne W. Housand and husband Darrell of Bladenboro; brother: George D. Walters "Duck" and wife Jane of Abbottsburg; sister: Patricia W. Nance and husband Jimmy of Longs, SC; grandchildren: Brandon Housand, Travis Walters, and Sara Housand.

Russell was a kind, gentle fellow that never met a stranger and spoke to everyone. His family was his heart and the grandchildren were the apples of his eyes. He worked eight years at Newport News shipyard, 20 years at DuPont in Leland, and 17 years with Walters Laundromat with his brother and best friend, Duck Walters.

A private burial will be held prior to funeral service at Old Field Cemetery in Abbottsburg. The funeral service will be Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 1:30pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home Chapel in Elizabethtown with Dr. Bert Young officiating.
