James “Jimmy” Edsel Batton, 60, of Bladenboro passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Frances Batton; daughter, Ashley Buchanan; grandson, Landon Batton and brother, Ralph Batton.
Jimmy leaves behind his son, Brandon Batton; four sisters: Vonda Hester of Bladenboro, Shirley Smith and husband, Gerald of Bladenboro, Sheila Harrison and husband, Mike of Sanford, Paula Rogers and husband Richie of Bladenboro; three grandchildren: Steven, Piper and Conner.
Jimmy was a very simple man that lived a simple life. He cherished the time spent with his family and grandchildren. He liked to hunt, fish, watch movies, put model cars together and cook deer hash, which he did very well. This kind and loving soul will never be forgotten.
A memorial service will be held at 5pm on Tuesday, July 13th at the Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home, 800 North Main Street in Bladenboro officiated by Pastor Josh West and Ricky Ferrell. Burial will follow at a later date in the Bladen Memorial Gardens in Elizabethtown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the funeral fund of Jimmy Batton c/o Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home PO Box 3150 Elizabethtown, NC 28337.
