Jane Carrie Long Skinner, 70, of Riegelwood passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Dewey and Maggie “Isabelle” Callihan Long; brother, Robert Long; sisters: Martha Ann, Kathy, Nancy, Mable and Gladine.
Jane leaves behind her husband, Eddie Skinner of the home; two sons: William Skinner and wife Margaret of Riegelwood, Michael Skinner and wife Sarah of Brevard; brother, Ernest Ray Long and wife Phyllis of Clarkton; sister, Virginia Hainsey and husband Chuck of Bladenboro; four grandchildren: Ben Skinner, Joshua Skinner, Matthew Skinner and Kaylee Skinner.
Jane adored her family and the memories that were made with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a compassionate lady who looked out for others before herself. Her bright personality helped her to make many friendships along her Christian walk. Jane was often referred to as the Kool-Aid mom around Dublin School. A lot of the kids also called her Mama Jane. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Sunday, May 22nd at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Monday, May 23rd at Riegelwood Baptist Church with Rev. Cameron Lewis and Rev. Michael Skinner officiating service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
