Janice Rose Nance Gooden, 72, of Bladenboro passed away Monday, April 25, 2022. Janice was born October 16, 1949, to the late Edwin Nance and Evelyn Cartwright Nance. She was preceded by her parents, her daughter Amanda Gooden, three brothers Steve Nance, Larry Nance, and Robert Nance, and two nieces Farrell Leigh Hyatt and Heather Nance. Janice leaves behind her daughter Amy Autry (Jerry), brother Jimmy Nance, sister Helen Nance (Jimmy Dew), all of Bladenboro, Six grandchildren, Justin Autry, Josh Autry, Caylee Willoughby, Leigha Hester, Ari and Reianna; one great grandchild, River; one niece Traci Nardi (Michael), great nephews Jacob Nardi (Katie) and Devin Nardi (Candice), great great nephew Isaac Nardi, great great niece Isla Nardi, and a host of cherished cousins.
Janice spent many years in the nursing home following an aneurism. During this time, her sister, Helen, who she referred to as “Mama”, often visited and gave a steadfast abundance of love and care. Janice especially enjoyed going on their shopping trips, eating out, and relaxing in the pool. She also looked forward to her trips home to spend time with the family on holidays. Janice, although disabled, was still able to give much love and joy to others around her. Her smile, wit and sense of humor will certainly be missed.
The family will receive friends from 3-4 pm on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at the Richardson Baptist Church in Bladenboro followed by a funeral service at 4:00 pm with Rev. Darin Andrews officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Singletary Cemetery in Butters.
