Jean Allen Denton, age 81, of Bladenboro passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013.
She was born in Bladen County on May 7, 1932. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Faulk Hester, and her husband, Charles H. Denton.
She is survived by two sons, James M. Davis of Bladenboro and Rodney H. Denton of Statesville, NC; three daughters, Linda K. Davis of Jersey City, NJ, Kecia D. Brown and Tammie Denton both of Statesville, NC.; two sisters, Myrtle Hill of Bladenboro and Margie Hill of Brooklyn, NY; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Bryant Swamp Missionary Baptist Church in Bladenboro with Dr. Thurman Everett officiating. Burial will follow at Faulk Town Cemetery.
