Jennie Nance Lovette Harris, age 90, of White Lake, NC passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Wesley Pines Nursing Home in Lumberton, NC. She is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Sarah Nance, husbands: Gilbert Lovette and Dale Harris, two sisters: Sarah Britt, Lib Stevens and three brothers: Max Nance, Kenneth Nance, and Mitchell Nance. Jennie leaves behind two sons: Randall Lovette and Carol Fisher of New Bern, Alan Lovette and wife Adrienne of Charlotte, one step-son Randy Harris and wife Dixie of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren: Tripp Lovette and wife Kristie, Drew Lovette and wife Stephanie, Courtney Chacos and husband Brian, Megan Emmerth and husband Mike, three great grandchildren: Colt Lovette, Zoe Chacos and Jax Chacos and over 100 close relatives.
From her birth in Bladenboro, on September 14, 1927 to Monday, Jennie nourished people around her with love, generosity, and kindness. She was the youngest of six children. Jennie graduated from Campbell University where she was a member of the Women's Basketball team. After college, Jennie worked and retired from North Carolina Employment Security Commission. Jennie's last words were "I had a good life." She did live a good life and will be missed by the many lives that she touched.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm on Friday, May 11, 2018 followed by a funeral service at 3 pm at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Burial will follow the services in the Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Bladenboro. Pallbearers will include: Tripp Lovette, Drew Lovette, Ken Nance, Bobby Huggins, Lewis Nance, and Randy Harris.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Elizabethtown Baptist Church Building Fund or the charity of one's choice.
