Jerry Patton Martin

Jerry Patton Martin, 78, of Tar Heel, passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Martin and Daisy P. Singletary Martin. 

Jerry leaves behind his daughter, Sandra Martin of Tar Heel and her mother, Marilyn Martin.

Jerry was a hardworking man who loved his job. He worked for the peanut processing plant/Hampton Farm in Elizabethtown for 56 years. He was so reliable that his fellow workers would call him on the phone when something went wrong, and he could walk them through over the phone on how to fix the problem. Jerry loved his daughter, Sandra, who was the apple of his eye. His considerate and compassionate spirit will forever be remembered by all. 

The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Saturday, January 27th at Tar Heel Baptist Church followed by a funeral service at 2pm with Reverend Tommy Puryear officiating.

At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Sandra Martin 13480 Hwy 87 West, Tar Heel, NC 28392.
