Jerry Glenn Savage, 78, of Elizabethtown passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at Duke Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Tolar Savage, his parents, Alexander Glenn Savage and Geneva Melvin and one brother, Jack Savage. Jerry leaves behind his wife, Lynda Howell of the home; one son, Andrew Matthew Savage (Paula) of Rocky Point; two stepsons: Joseph Neil Howell Jr. (Cynthia) of Lumberton; and William W. Howell (Deidre) of Lumberton; one sister, Jean Savage Draper of Lisbon; and four grandchildren: Daniel Savage, Lauren G. Howell, Bailey Howell and Luke Howell.
Jerry graduated from Clarkton High School and went on to graduate from East Carolina University in 1966. He retired after 52 years as partner with the S. Preston Douglas Accounting Firm. Jerry was also a member of Wesleys Chapel United Methodist Church where he served as Secretary/Treasurer for many years. He enjoyed sports and was an avid golf player. His legacy of dedication, hard work and compassion will eternally be remembered in the hearts of all that knew him.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, August 26th in Elizabethtown Cemetery with Rev. Darryl Copeland officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Wesley Chapel Building Fund or a fund of your choice.
