Jesse Thomas "Tommy" Hinson

Jesse Thomas “Tommy” Hinson, 78, of Evergreen, NC went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 while at Columbus Regional Healthcare. He was born in Robeson County on August 18, 1945, son of the late Jessie Z. Hinson and Sally Hester Hinson.

Tommy was known around the community as a sales representative for Woodmen of the World Insurance Company where he worked until his retirement after 38 years of service. He never met a stranger and enjoyed helping people. He adored his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his family with all his heart.  He will eternally be remembered for his generosity and his heart of gold.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Samuel “Sammy” Carlton Hinson. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Diana Hargrove Hinson of the home, three sons, Joey Hinson of Lennon’s Crossroads, Jami Hinson (Donna) of Whiteville, and Jeffrey Hinson of Lennon’s Crossroads, and four grandchildren, Madison H. Baucom (Taylor), William T. Hinson (Maddie), Jessie Hinson, and Jacob Hinson.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm on Friday, June 7, 2024, with a funeral service to follow at 3 pm at the Lennons Crossroads Baptist Church in Evergreen with the Reverend Fred Senter officiating. A burial will follow the services in the Kelly Cemetery off Old Boardman Road in Bladenboro.
