Jessie Lee Wooten McKinnies was born on June 29, 1930 to the late Isadora and John Wooten. She departed this life on Saturday,
May 25, 2013 at Poplar Heights Care in Elizabethtown, NC.She was preceded in death by her husband Willie McKinnies Sr., Two brothers: Wilbert and John Wooten Jr., and two brother in-laws: Joe Colter and Ernest Prudie.
Jessie received Christ at an early age and joined the Pilgrim Hill Baptist Church. She received her education at Booker T. Washington High School. She was a very outgoing person and was eager to help anyone she could. She was also a very loving foster mother and leaves behind her cherished family: son Willie McKinnies Jr. of Southport, NC,, daughters: Linda McKinnies of Elizabethtown, and Thelma Grant of Charlotte, Goddaughter Phyllis Williams of Lumberton, four sisters: Mary Prudie of Clarkton, Agnes Colter, Angeline Wooten, and Lessie Wooten all of Lynchburg, VA, one brother Carl Wooten and wife Sylvia of Jacksonville, FL, grandchildren: Sevann Grant, Sequann Grant, and Breanne Grant all of Charlotte, NC,, a special nephew Tysean Davis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
A Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm with a Walk-Thru Visitation from 1:00 - 1:45 pm before service. She will be laid to rest in Pilgrim Hill Baptist Church Cemetery following funeral.
