Jill Collins

Jill Strickland Collins, 64, of Council, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents: Dennis and Lucille Strickland and son: Jamie Collins. Jill is survived by her husband: Randall Collins; two sons: Chad Collins of Bluefield, David Donaldson of Rock Hill, NC; daughter: Tiffany Collins Pait and husband Grant; two brothers: Dennis Gordon Strickland II and wife Janice of Bluefield, Michael Strickland and wife Janice of Bluefield; sister: Sue Pigott and husband Bob of Ocean Isle Beach; five grandchildren: Darren Collins, Nicholas Collins, Evan Pait, Cameron Collins, Ethan Collins; great-grandchild: Braylen (Willie) Collins.

Jill married the love of her life, Randall, on September 18, 1971. They had two children, Chad and Jamie, in the marriage gaining a daughter when Jamie married Tiffany. In 2001, she lost her oldest son, Jamie and her heart grieved for him continuously. Jill was a great wife, mother, and grandmother that loved her family dearly; always wanting to feed and take care of everyone. Jill worked for the United States Postal Service for 31 years until retirement as postmaster.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 28, 2017 from 6-8pm at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 2pm at Bluefield United Methodist Church with Rev. Shannon Ross officiating. Burial will follow service in Bluefield Cemetery.
