Jo Baldwin

Jo Ann Dove Baldwin, 77, entered into eternal rest on March 27, 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents Gaston Dove and Ila Hester Dove, beloved son Joseph Mark Baldwin and a sister, Hazel Dove Russ. Surviving are her husband John Kelly Baldwin and sons John Allan Baldwin and wife Dawn of Bladenboro, Tim Baldwin and wife Kellie of Sanford, NC, sisters Lola Dove Johnson and husband Lynn of Bladenboro, Joyce Dove Ward and husband Wilbur of Clarkton, NC and Linda Dove Bordeaux of Newport News, VA. Four grandchildren: Sarah Baldwin, Matthew Baldwin, Timothy Baldwin, and Alexandria Grace Baldwin and several nieces and nephews. Special appreciation is expressed to great niece Deanna Packer who so lovingly attended to her and to the nurses of Community Home Care and Hospice.

Jo Ann was a determined, hardworking and loving lady. She married the love of her life Kelly Baldwin on March 4, 1961. Jo Ann spent a number of years working as a secretary to individuals such as president of Campbell University, Dr. Leslie Campbell and Dr. Lucas, a professor in the Department of Agriculture and Life Sciences. She also served as a relief secretary for friends who had to take maternity leave or sick leave from their jobs. Without question though, Jo Ann's first love was for children…babies! She was a wonderful mother and grandmother to her own. Often times, in public she would be near a child and almost always interact in some way. Jo Ann also loved the Lord and was active as could be in church. She worked in the Sunday school nursery until her health no longer allowed it. Among her many talents, she was an immaculate housekeeper and wonderful cook. A wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed a great deal.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 2:00 pm on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Bladenboro followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm with Dr. Bert Young and Pastor Bob Wall officiating. Interment will take place prior to the service in the Pine Crest Cemetery in Bladenboro. Memorial gifts will be appreciated by First Baptist Church.
