John "Danny" Daniel Williams

John Daniel  “Danny” Williams, 53 of Tar Heel passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024. He was born on May 27, 1970, to the late Leonard and Donna Jean Munn Williams.

He is survived by his brother, Leonard Williams Jr. of Tar Heel; his sister, Deborah W. Lockamy and husband Dale of Tar Heel and very special friends, Neil and Felicia Avant, Louis Hadley, and Rocky Hammond.

  Danny was an iron worker/welder for 30 years. He made many friends all over the country building everything from intricate iron gates to large steel buildings and structures. He was also the co-founder and lead guitarist of a popular regional metal band, Critical Assault. Along with his best friends he performed in hundreds of shows over 15 years and during this time he got to share the stage with many of his teenage heroes. He also programmed the robotic lights and created the pyrotechnic show for the band’s live performances. He was passionate about his music, his work, family, and friends. He was known for a big heart and a big smile. He was an outgoing man and never met a stranger. Danny will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Memorial service will be held at 2 pm at New Life Church in Lumberton on Saturday, June 8, 2024
