Joseph Wilbert Dean, 78, of Supply, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Annie Belle Dean; son: Joseph Michael Dean; two brothers: Edward Duncan Dean, Kenneth Dean; two sisters: Carol Dean and Francis Dean. Joseph is survived by his wife of 57 years: Judy Dean; daughter: Cameron Dean Porter of St. James; brother-in-law: Roy Hansen of Fayetteville; sister-in-law: Edna Dean of Fayetteville; two grandchildren: Joseph Matthew Hubbard of Dallas, Texas, Anthony Porter of Morehead City and a host of nieces and nephews.
Joseph was a devoted husband, a caring father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He enjoyed life and never met a stranger. Joseph was a dedicated and hard worker for 20 plus years for Kelly Springfield Tire Company. He loved fishing, UNC sports and coaching football for kids around the community.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday, September 11th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 12th at 1pm in the Archibald Roberts Cemetery, 55 Starslie Lane, Bladenboro N.C 28320, with Dr. Mack Roberts officiating service.
