Joseph "J.L." Lennon, Jr.

Joseph Luther “J.L.” Lennon, Jr., 64, of Elizabethtown passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Luther Lennon, Sr.; mother, Mary Everette Lennon; two daughters: Anna Maria Hester, Jennifer Michelle Lennon and brother, David Lennon.

J.L. is survived by his grandson, Cayden Hester; three brothers: Phillip Lennon of Elizabethtown, Jesse Lennon (Kristie) of White Lake, Jimmy Lennon (Bonnie) of Elizabethtown; two sisters: Swannie Rogers of Garland, Eloise Hill (Stuart) of Chadbourn; seven nieces and nephews: Phillip “Andy” Lennon (Emily), Jessica Diaz (Miguel), Wesley Lennon (Dakota), David Lennon (Sarah), Mary Jo Lennon, Brittany Lennon, Mary Katelyn Lennon.

J.L. loved his family especially his grandson, Cayden. He was an outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his hogs, dogs and his Chevy pickup truck. His favorite saying was “I can’t tell you everything.” J.L. will be missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Saturday, February 29th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Hospice 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472 or to the funeral fund of Joseph Lennon c/o Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home PO Box 3150 Elizabethtown, NC 28337.

The family would like to thank Dr. Hugh Daniel and staff at Donayre Cancer Care, as well as some of his special helpers: Kelvin Flanery, Sherri Lanier, Nicole Crider and Kayla Lennon.
