Joyce Lamb

Christine, age 79, died on Saturday August 19, 2017 in her Clarkton NC home. She was born in Bladen County, June 25, 1938 to Carl and Mayo(Grimsley) Thompson and was the second of nine children. She was a 1956 graduate of Clarkton School. After which she worked at Standard Drug Company in Kinston NC before moving to Florida. As a manager at AT&T she mentored and inspired those who worked with her until her retirement in June 1997 after more than 30 years of service. Christine was a Life Member of Pioneers, a volunteer network.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Veargina Ma, Lela Ann, Carlene Heath, Georgia Howard and Annette Hardison and brother JT Thompson. Left to honor Christine and remember her love are two brothers Billy Thompson and Bobby Thompson; nieces Deborah, Linda, Cindy, Carol, Renee, Melissa and Vanessa; nephews Eddie, Benny, Robert Edward, Carl and Thomas; countless friends. She also left to the care of her brother Bobby her two beloved cats Limpy and Baby.

Christine's greatest loves were her family and friends, children, all animals and helping anyone or anything in need. She will be missed and remembered by many.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 am at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A lunch will be served for friends and family at her Clarkton home following the service.
