Joyce Mcleod

Joyce Stephenson McLeod, 56 of Elizabethtown entered into eternal rest December 10, 2008 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. Mrs. McLeod was born in North Hampton County on December 1, 1952. She was the daughter of the late David Sr. and Alma Foriest Stephenson.



Mrs. McLeod was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, James Stephenson, and David Stephenson Jr.

Mrs. McLeod is survived by her husband Herman McLeod, of the home, her mother Alma Stephenson of Elizabethtown, one step-daughter, Renee Dennis, one step-son, Herman Hill, two sisters, Avon Stephenson McLeod of Lumberton, Jean Houge of New York, NY, one sister in-law, Mary McLeod Connlly of Bronx NY, and many wonderful grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

Mrs. McLeod was the Assistant Director for the Bladen County Transit System.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 13, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Cromartie Hill AME Zion Church on Hwy. 701 at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
