Judith "Faye" Hill Register, 71, was called into Glory on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Faye was a beloved, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was married to LeRoy Register for 54 wonderful years and was a loving mother to Jerry Register (wife Djuana) and Jenny McLamb (husband Michael). Faye was blessed with three grandchildren, Caroline Register and Jesse and Bonnie McLamb. Faye was one of eleven children born to A.J. and Kinnie Hill who precede her in death. Also preceding her in death are brothers: James, Gerald, George and Tommy Hill and sisters: Nadine Dowless, Shirley Bryan and Lola Grainger. Faye is survived by two brothers Timmy and Billy Hill and one sister Ann Lee.
Faye was blessed with a second family that loved her as one of their own. Her husband's family was very important to her and vital in loving her and helping take care of her as she battled Alzheimer's for the last nine years of her life. She leaves fond memories with Virginia and Wilma Bullard, Mary Alice Dowd, Kenneth, Jimmy, and Billy Register and their spouses and children.
White Oak was home to Faye for over 30 years where she became a cherished member of the community and an extension of God's hand in people's lives. Faye left a loving legacy of missions, ministry, compassion, caring and service for all who knew her. She was widely known for her Sunday school teaching, cooking skills, and engaging smile. Faye was a faithful member of White Oak Baptist Church where she served the Lord and Savior in many different capacities. Faye left an incredible mark upon each life she touched, whether in health or sickness.
The family extends a loving thank you to Virginia and Wilma Bullard, Mary Alice Dowd and Wanda Register as well as many caregivers at Golden Living Nursing and Rehab and Elizabethtown Health and Rehab Centers for their care of Faye during the last four years. A heartfelt thanks is also due to the staff of Lower Cape Fear Home and Hospice and the Angel House Hospice House in Whiteville for the loving kindness shown to Faye and her family during her last days.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home from 6-8 pm. The Celebration of Life service will be held at White Oak Baptist Church on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00 am. The service will be officiated by Faye's nephew Rev. Warren Hill who will be accompanied by other loved ones. The family will receive friends at other times at Faye and Leroy's home at 1449 Gum Shaw Rd, White Oak, NC 28399.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472.
