Julian Shaw

June 7, 1919 — May 19, 2007

Julian C. \\"Tater\\" Shaw, 87, died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, May 19, 2007. Tater was born on June 7, 1919 in Bladenboro, NC and lived there all of his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.



He is survived by his son Rudy and wife Barbara of Raleigh and two grandsons; Mike and wife Holly of Raleigh, Ben and wife Rebecca of Wilmington, a granddaugter, Kelly Shaw of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, three great grandchildren, Harrison and Mary Bryant of Raleigh and Kaila of Wilmington, and a daughter-in-law, Wanda Shaw of Bladenboro and her three daughters. Tater is also survived by a large, loving extended family from the marriage of his wife, Grace Smith who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by wives, Gladys and Virginia and two sons, Julian C. Shaw Jr. and E.C. Shaw.



He was a proud veteran, having served in the US Navy during WWII and retired from the US Army National Guard. He also was a member of the Bladenboro Fire Dept. and served as the Chief for serveral years. Tater loved his Church, his town, his country, his family and his many friends. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.



Visitation will be Tuesday night, May 22 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Bladen Funeral Home located on HWY 242 in Elizabethtown. The funeral services will be held at Bladenboro First Baptist Church on Main Street at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 23. A graveside service will follow.
