Julius "Buddy" Clemmons

Julius "Buddy" Clemmons, 85 of Whiteville went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 4, 2024. Buddy was born on November 25, 1938 to the late John and Hazel Tanner Clemmons. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, JC Clemmons. 

Buddy loved spending time with his family, time with the Lord and was a wonderful Sunday School teacher. He served in the United States Army, where he was in the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Army, Buddy spent his time doing carpenter work. He enjoyed watching Western on TV and reading Western books. When he was not watching TV or reading, you would see him with his granddaughter Kassie. He loved to set with her and teach her about history and the names of presidents of the United States. Later in life, his faithful companion came into his life "Bo". Buddy would not go anywhere that his dog was not welcome.  Buddy's gentle smile and loving heart will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Clemmons, of the home: sons, Kevin Clemmons and wife Shonta of Whiteville, Alex Clemmons and wife Heather of Loveland, CO,; Anthony Clemmons of CO; sister, Barbara Newberry of Lumberton; three grandchildren, Kassie Clemmons; Abbi Clemmons; Emily Clemmons; and his dog, Bo. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm at Gore's Chapel on 36 Gores Chapel Road in Nakina, NC. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Glenn Lane and Ron Hainsey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
