Karen "Kay" Carter

Karen “Kay” Priest Carter, 67, of Bladenboro passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Bladen East Nursing Home in Elizabethtown. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Evans Priest; maternal grandparents, Murdock Britt and Vera Bryan Britt; paternal grandparents, Preston Priest and Mavis Davis Priest Campbell and infant brother, Phillip Priest.

Kay leaves behind her mother, Vera Aline Britt Priest; three brothers: Ricky Priest and wife Mildred, Patrick Priest and wife Kimberly, Michael Priest and wife Melody; four nephews: Travis Priest and wife Robyn, Brandon Priest and wife Allyson, Johnny Priest, Terry Priest; three nieces: Karen Marie Priest, Jerrie Michelle Priest, Shannon Goodson; two great-nephews: Ryen Priest, Shan Priest; five great-nieces: Kaetlyn Priest, Olivia Priest, Taryn Priest, Kayleen Priest and Avan Priest.

Kay enjoyed spending time with her family. All her nephews and nieces were like her very own. She was always there and did for all of them. If you ever met her, you knew that you were a part of her family. She enjoyed the beach and decorating for all holidays, especially Christmas. Even though her time was limited on this earth because of her extensive battle with pancreatic cancer, she would pray for her family, friends and others. Kay’s consistent faith and loving spirit will be remembered by all who loved her.

The family will receive friends at the mother's home from 10am-9pm on Friday, June 10th at 1234 Pleasant Grove Church Road Bladenboro, NC 28320.

The family will also receive friends from 2-3pm on Saturday, June 11th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A celebration of life service will be held at 3pm with Rev. Richard Priest officiating.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Bladen East Health and Rehab Nursing facility and to the staff of Community Hospice.
