Kathleen Dowless

Kathleen Evers Dowless, 92, of Bladenboro, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. Mrs. Dowless was born February 16, 1926 to the late Allen and Ida Carroll Evers.

On January 3, 1943, she married her high school sweetheart, Warren Dowless. They were married for over 73 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Warren Dowless; son: Levie M. Dowless; daughter: Gunda Sue Dowless; three brothers: Rev. Earl Evers, Hubert Evers and D.J. Evers.

Mrs. Dowless attended Center Road Baptist Church all her life and was a member there since the age of 12. She was a wonderful person who loved her Lord, family and friends with all her heart.

Left to cherish her memories are her children: Betty Horne, Wanda Carroll, Teresa Freeman (Jimmy) and Warren N. Dowless, Jr.; sister: Eloise Kohler (George); six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, her caregiver: Pam S. Cassady.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 22nd at 11am in the New Pait Cemetery in Bladenboro. Pastor David Kelly, Rev. Thomas Hunsinger and Bo Pharr will be officiating service.
