Katie Meshaw

January 24, 1923 — February 17, 2013

Katie Nye Meshaw, 90, of 8955 Highway 701 Clarkton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, in Columbus Regional Health Care in Whiteville. She was born on January 24, 1923, to the late Ruth Council Nye and Graham David Nye, Sr. of Bolton. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one infant baby boy, Morgan Perry Meshaw, Jr.
Katie Meshaw served as Director of Bladen County's Division of Aging for many years. She has dedicated her life to serving the Lord with her family, church family and friends.
She is survived by: daughter Kay Barr and husband, Charles of Greensboro; son Dan Meshaw and wife, Pat of Clarkton; daughter, Ann Donnelly of Hillsborough, and son, Jack Meshaw of Dunn. Grandchildren, Charlotte Lewis and Chris, Crystal Elkins & Greg, Carinna Batten and Richie, Sarah Kathryn Meshaw, Clark Meshaw, Earl Donnelly, Ruth Nicholson and Nick and Katie Meshaw; Great Grandchildren, Charles G. Lewis, Chandler Lewis, Christann Lewis, Kayla Elkins, Daniel Elkins, Hunter Barr, Ava Batten and Noah Batten; brother, Benny Nye of Lake Waccamaw and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 7:00 until 8:00 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 11:00 am at Clarkton Presbyterian Church with Rev. Sommer Bower officiating, burial will follow at Clarkton Cemetery.
