Cody Hammond, 15, of Bladenboro entered into eternal rest after a swimming accident Sunday, March 29, 2009.
Cody was a energetic young man, loved by everyone. He was a 10th grade student at West Bladen High School. Cody had a love for the game of baseball. He was the catcher for the varsity baseball team.
Cody was born in Bladen County June 7, 1993, to Kenneth and Tammy Inman Hammond.
Cody is survived by his father, Ken Hammond of the home, and his mother Tammy Hammond of Bladenboro; paternal grandmother, Leveda Johnson of Lillington, his paternal grandfather, L. H. Lawson and wife Helen of Lumberton; his maternal grandmother, Carrie Todd and husband Kim of Bladenboro, maternal grandfather, Pete Inman of Shallotte; three uncles, Allen King , Dennis Inman and Timmy Inman; seven aunts, Shelly King, Karen Butler, Wanda Smith, Pammy Dicicco, Terri Lawson, Sheana Lawson and Doshie Hammond; girlfriend, Kimberly Elkins.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 2, 2009 from 6:00 until 9:00 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 3, 2009 at Smyrna Baptist Church 211 Hwy. Lumberton with Rev. Kip Nance, Rev. Jerry Smith and Russell Benson officiating. Burial will follow at Lewis Cemetery of Bladenboro.
