Kenneth Martin Jr.

Kenneth “Butchie” Martin Jr., 65, of Bladenboro passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Daniel Martin Sr., and Mildred McLean Martin. Butchie leaves behind his wife, Cathy Martin of the home; one son, Erik Martin and wife Julie of Bladenboro; one daughter, Nicole Garner and husband Lane of Dublin; one brother, Johnny Martin of Bladenboro and two sisters, Cindy Green of McAlpin, FL and Terrie Ward of Jacksonville Beach, FL.

Butchie was a wonderful, loving, and faithful husband and father. He loved his family and had a special soft spot for those that were at a disadvantage. A hard worker, he was employed with Dupont for 38 years. Butchie loved the Lord and enjoyed serving in the kitchen at his home church. He was an avid sportsman who loved to compete. He was also a man of few words, but what he did say had great meaning. His quiet disposition and huge heart left an eternal impression in the lives of so many.

A private graveside service will be held on Friday, May 29th in Pine Crest Cemetery in Bladenboro with Rev. Dale Hester officiating. A Memorial service celebrating his life will be held at a later date. At other times, the family will be meeting at the home of Nicole and Lane Garner, 6845 Albert Street, Dublin, NC 28332.
